A Transformerless Photovoltaic Inverter With Dedicated MPPT for Grid Application

The objective of reducing the size and cost grid-connected photovoltaic system has led to advancements in field transformerless inverters gained high popularity recent years. However, such systems, major limitation lies realizing maximum power from individual modules. In this regard, paper proposes a modular multilevel inverter that realizes point (MPP) each module under different operating scenarios. presented configuration is simple modular, providing flexibility increase number inputs with less component count. A single-phase synchronous reference frame PI (SRF-PI) controller been designed realized for proposed system. systematic procedure designing detailed. converter allow realize MPP modules simultaneously achieve load demand maintaining desired grid voltage. This verified scenarios MATLAB/Simulink environment. same validated on 300W laboratory prototype source intermittencies. compared similar works reported literature it observed employs only 18 components. Also, efficiency range 89-95%. Further, common-mode voltage leakage current have measured verify their suitability systems as per German VDE 0126-1-1 standards.
